This problem occurs when no device is connected to a USB port. That makes the USB driver set the Open Host Controller Interface (OHCI) controller to a suspended state. When the OHCI controller is in a suspended state, it cannot always detect when you add a new USB device to your computer.

Prevent USB pen drive virus
Most of the time our computer are infected by virus through pendrive. They are plugged in by our friends or other people. Antivirus cannot detect every virus in the pendrive. How can we prevent the virus from infecting our computer when our friends or other people plug in their pendrive into our computer?
- Disable the autorun feature completely is the best way! or follow the step below:
- In my computer / windows explorer, you must not double click the removable disk .
- If you double click the removable disk, your computer will be infected by virus if your USB pen drive has been already infected by virus.
- Instead, in my computer, click the folders button:
prevent usb pen drive virus.
- The folder pane will be shown:
DISABLE AUTORUN TO PREVENT PC FROM VIRUS OF USB
Mostly the viruses that multiply through USB sticks use the autorun function of USB as it does not require any user confirmation and runs secretly in the background, unlike a CD or DVD.
The best way to keep USB viruses from injecting themselves to your PC or laptop is to Disable the USB Autorun feature and I will teach you how to do it.

solving the unable to open problem
We all have experienced someday or the other, this problem of WINDOWS XP in which when we double click on the drive it does not open or some dialog box opens up but not the drive. Yes, you know it right; the problem is caused by some virus activity and if you don’t know
how to open this, here is the fix (just make sure that the virus has been removed, else the problem will persist):
When the problem happens, it means that there is a file named “Autorun.inf” in the root drive, but you will not be able to view it as it is a system file. This file is rarely caught by the anti virus. This file makes sure to run the virus and infect your system. This is the file which is responsible to run the dialog box that appears on autoplay. So this is a useless file for sure.
